Arnaldo Passarin’s family, that currently operates União de Vinhos do Rio Grande, works in elaboration of wines ever since the arrival of Giuseppe Passarin in 1890 from the city of Verona, Italy, in São Paulo, Brazil. Giusepe settled in Jundiaí, in the countryside of São Paulo and there started the cultivation of grapevines and the craft of elaboration of wines. His son Guido continued this activity and later his sons kept enlarging the business. Later the youngest son Arnaldo came to settle in the Gaúcha mountain ridge – Rio Grande do Sul.
There he started his first small wine-producing company. The years have passed and today, Arnaldo administers the company’s headquarters in Flores da Cunha and a branch in “Vale dos Vinhedos”- Bento Gonçalves. One of the guidelines of the company is keeping a partnership with more than 500 family grape producers; some of whom have been partners for more than 30 years.
Elaborating high-quality products, associated selected raw material, employing well prepared enologists and using high-tech equipment are the enterprise’s priorities.
