The project of the Winery Cordilheira de Sant’Ana is the result of the mature experience of two professionals that, together, have 60 years of experience in enology. The Palomas terroir was not chosen at random, but was selected based on research, information, and great professional experience on making wine in that region. Located in the town of Sant’Ana do Livramento, state of Rio Grande do Sul, in the so-called Campanha Gaúcha, the region has one of the best climate and soil for growing premium wine grapes.
Cordilheira de Sant’Ana was founded in 1999 and covers 24 hectars. Its owners are the winemakers Rosana Wagner and Gladistão Omizzolo. They patiently waited 6 years to release their first bottle of wine in a very limited production. Every production step, from the grape production through its bottling, happened inside the property, in front of the owners’ eyes, who practice with pleasure the liberty to decide the exact moment to pick the grapes and bottle the result of this exclusive production.
The winery is recognized by the critics as a producer of high quality hand-crafted wines. The wine’s alcohol content, the complexity of its aromas, its color and nuances, its flavor and harmony results from the care with which the grapes are grown and the loving work of its oenologists.
